Deep house and dub techno spread in Europe, and we can hear about more and more new talents, who have fantasy as producer or DJ, and always can show something new. We don't have to go far for these young artists - just go till the Alps where such guys are like Baaz or Alessandro Crimi. I interviewed the latest gentleman, who was glad to answer my questions and also made an exclusive mix to our site, in which he mixed some dubstep and deep dub techno elements. So my guest is Alessandro Crimi from Switzerland.

First of all, please tell something about yourself. How did you get to your recent style?

Music was always one of the most important things in my life. In very young years i was listening all the time the records of my parents which was stuff like jean michel jarre, kraftwerk, pink floyd, depeche mode. I have always been very open minded for different music styles. Its very difficult to say that my style is. Because i love so many different kind of music. And i think i automaticaly let them flow into my music and my dj sets.

Your name sounds Italian but if I’m right, you were born in Australia and live in Switzerland. Would you tell u show did you get to the centre of Europe?

Yes thats right. my father is italian and my mother from austria.

You have already played at several clubs. Do you have some favourite ones that you prefer? And which club would you like to play where you haven’t before?

The Club „Harry Klein” in Munich was very cool! And also the Home Club in Amsterdam.

I would love to play at the Club „Zukunt” in Zurich because the people are very open minded for the music.alessandro_crimi5

You are a young ambitious talent like for instance Baaz or W&P HGG aka Hugo Giner from the European house scene. Are you in contact with each other? Perhaps have you ever worked or played together?

I played with Baaz at the Sthlmaudio Showcase in Geneva. He’s a very nice guy and a very talented producer and dj! I’m not in contact with Hugo Giner but i really love his work! Great stuff!

Are there any DJs who you would like to play B2B with once?

I would love to play with José Manuel Alvarez aka „Dubbyman”. He’s one of my favorite Djs and Producers at the moment.

What does producing mean for you? Do you use musical instruments?

I dont have any real instruments. I only use my computer to make music.

I read that the first records you had were Depeche Mode and Pink Floyd. I guess you still listen to different genres apart from electronic music. What are your favourites beside house?

Most of the time i’m listening to electronic music, which also includes genres like Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Downbeat, Jazzy Stuff, and so on.

If I’m right you prefer vinyls. As I’m a collector too, I know well the feeling, but would you tell us something about it?

I love the sound and the feeling of vinyls!

How do you prepare a gig? Do you have something that you always play nowadays?

alessandro_crimi1Usualy i take much time to prepare my record case. Depends on where i play and which time.

Also the Swiss electronic scene is growing these days. What do you think, is it just a passing vogue or has it a stable future?

Is it? I dont know... i dont like the Scene here so much. There’s only one Club which i like a lot (Zukunft Zurich). The reason is that i’m really sick of some kind of minimal Techno and Electro. At the moment i’m more into Deep Music and Dubstep.

Some of your productions came out at the German Broque and the Swiss Sthlmaudio Recordings as well. Which labels would you like to release you upcoming EPs or albums?

There will be an EP very soon on the digital label „Homemade” and a Netlabel EP on Broque. Hopefully i can make another sthlmaudio. Its definitly my favorite swiss record label!

What records can we wait for in the close future from you?

Surprise!

And at last but not least, could you tell something about the mix you made for us?

This is my first Mix which includes also some Dubstep Perls. I tryed something different. But as usual, its very deep!
