Lokitas. If I say this name, not many people know in Hungary what I mean. It was based on an online friendship since a few years ago. Nowadays their tracks are getting very popular among the electronic music lovers. So it's time to present them here.

When did you get in contact with this genre?

We discovered progressive & deep house in 2003 and suddenly it became all our life ) It’s a shame that nobody is making such music nowadays.

Nowadays many producers decide to work together with some similar minded guys instead of making music alone. What about your case? How did you meet?

It’s easier and more cheerfully to work together and besides loading on performances is less

We’ve met on one internet music forum. About 2 years past before we desided to create Lokitas.

What do you do in civil?

Sergei is an imposer in family publishing business and Nikita is graphic designer.

Melodies are very important in your music. Who made the biggest influences on you?

We’re trying to listen as much music as we can, even if it’s not in electronic style. Jazz, classic, ambient – all are welcome. From artists it would be desirable to note Air, Bent, Zero 7 and more „traditional” Blue Haze, Cassino & Laben, Circulation, Chris Micali, D-Pulse, Dousk, Lank, Luke Chable, Royksopp, Sasha, Silicone Soul, The Timewriter, Trentemoller, Yvel & Tristan and more, infinitely.

Your track, „Magenta” was a bomb. In most mixes we could hear it. What is the story of this track?

Firstly it was an idea to make EP called CMYK(Cyan Magenta Yellow and Key Color). Magenta was our second original track after Cyan but then we decided to release them separately. Second part of magenta ep is coming soon with some more remixes and our new version. Hope you gonna like it as the first part.

Do you have any previous musical qualification?

Nope. Non of us actually had any musical qualification. Sergei played piano when he was a kid ) and thats it.

I’ve already asked some Russian producers: what could be the reason of that there are so many great producers in your country?

We're just big country with lots of talented people:)

What do you think about Russian electronic music scene? Is there any evolution? Or do you try to get abroad?

You know, Russian electronic music scene is perfect, but we can’t say the same about our public. While we will have such a lot of djs and producers as we hear in popular clubs and cafes, all best guys would try to release abroad.

Are you more DJs or producers?

Its hard to answer this question. Its two different feeling to create something and exchange emotions with people who loves the same music as you. I think nowadays we're more into production but still we love DJing

What are you working on at the moment? What records are coming out in the close future?

We’ve got a lot of unsigned tracks, but in the nearest future we’re going to release second part of MAGENTA EP which is strongly differs from part one. This our essential work in progress at the moment.
