Interviews - Hungarian DJs & Producer

Music takes you to a specific world, it makes you happy or it inspires you. It doesn't matter if the instrument is electronic, you can create sound and harmony by using anything. The instrument isn't matter, essential is to evoke feelings of people. This is the ars poetic of my friend, b.craack. And who is he?

Slam Jr: Sorted, Freee Magazine: Blueboy mix - One, Slam Jr: Strictly Collection, JustmusicFm: Chriss 001 Chriss: Live. These are just some of his appearances.

You've studied to playing guitare. How do one gets from jazz to electronic music?

Yes I was playing guitare in the Erkel Ferenc Music school, in the department of Jazz, Jazz-rock until I became 21 years old. This period was about the theory of music and the hard-core of playing guitare. I liked rock and british pop music at that time. I remember, after the class, wee used to make the guitare music of my favourite musicians: Depeche Mode, Cranberries etc. I hardly remember to them, maybe one. I turned to write music and I became interested in electronic music because I could save one part of a song only on my computer and it has let me to use only grooves and strings at that time. So this is how it turned to be electro, techno-pop. I liked is and I developed it. The technic of our days would let me to go back to my basic idea, but I'm not for that anymore.

What should we know about the Adept?b_craack_alagut_allo

Pepe? I can be gratefull to him about music. Our first group's name was Adept. He was responsible for the fix, me for the string. At that time Tomi Jutasi managed us: we made concerts in 2000 on the MediaShip, on the SZIGET Festival. We denied to play before the Pa-dö-dö on New Year's Eve. After that nobody called us to play in a show.

Is it still friendship?

I think Pepe is now moving back from L.A. We haven't talked for half a year, than suddenly he called me up and we continue to talk to each other as we did before. I am happy when he is calling.

How did Strictly find you?

My friends told me to do a promo LP using my own music. I made my first author-LP called The Sense of Adventure in 50 examples and gave it to people I knew. I don't know how it came to Zsazsa. I was on a meeting when he called me up to say that he wanted to put two singles of my LP on the new Sorted LP. I was so shocked I could only answer: All right, I call you back later. This is how it began. Then I met a lot of nice people who became my friends.

On your homepage, we can find a lot of good music. Why do you put it on it for free? Don't you want to make money out of it?

On my homepage: www.bcraack.com you can listen to the music but I speak in every 30 second for a while just to make people unable to use it for anything else. If somebody likes my music, why not give the chance to listen to it? Many people called me already that they want my music as original. I tell that if somebody searches me and wants to edit it, I'm in.

Contractual music is not on my website, new things are available on myspace/bcraackmusic.

Making money? I make money out of my civil job.

b_craack_gitarWhat angers you in this profession?

Egymásra mutogatás, ezt nem tudom írni. :)

I think that different styles, musicians and dj-s can create at the same time in the same business. They have one common goal: to amuse people. They shouldn't argue with each other. If they help each other, they would be more successful and effective.

I heard two of your new singles. How did your style change in the last years?

My opinion about music did not change. I changed in the way that I am not so interested in being up to date to the new trends.

What influences you when you are writing music?

I always start with the melody. If I find it interesting and new, I show it to my partner. Her opinions counts.

I heard that you will be part of a new series of party. Would you tell us about it? (Potence)

I heard about it as well, but ask Milan, not me.

Can we listen to your music as a dj in the future?

I've never been and I don't want to be a DJ. I do it only on private parties, because I've never learnt to mix. I think everybody should do what he knows. This mix is also made by a friend of mine, Rain (Roland). These are the music of 2003-2006. It is good for nostalgic ones!

What are your aims in music for 2007?b_craack_alagut

I stay with house and prog. With my frien SanFransiscoBeat(Egér) we are thinking about a mis of styles: jazz and strong tech together. I would like to make music with other producers as well, and finish the Ambient LP with Peti Lank.

What about your private life?

I will marry Panka in august, and we go on a long honeymoon, then children can come.

Are you happy?

I would like to be as happy as I am now for a long time.
